Strategic directions for the development of the Far East were discussed at the meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East held a regular meeting of the Public Council. Discussions focused on the development of the Strategy for the Socioeconomic Development of the Far Eastern Federal District through 2030 with an outlook for 2036, as well as the activities envisaged by the Government-approved Strategy for the Demographic Policy of the Far East through 2030. Public proposals for the draft federal law currently under development on establishing a unified preferential regime in the Far East and the Arctic were also considered.

As State Secretary and Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Anton Basansky noted in his speech, the updated Socioeconomic Development Strategy will identify key objectives to be addressed for the development of the Far East. Priority areas include ensuring continued economic growth and improving the quality of life. The draft document is being developed by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Federal Autonomous Institution "Vostokgosplan" in collaboration with federal ministries and agencies.

The meeting also discussed the development of logistics, shipbuilding, energy, creative industries, and other sectors. Comprehensive proposals for the draft Strategy for Socioeconomic Development of the Far East and the federal law on the Unified Preferential Regime, as well as new initiatives aimed at supporting demographics, will be prepared by the Public Council and submitted to the Ministry.
