At the exhibition-forum “Russia”, priority directions for the development of the Arctic were discussed

On Arctic Day, a meeting of the working group on ensuring transport, logistics and socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of Russia under the Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation, created on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, took place at the site of the exhibition-forum "Russia". Representatives of the Arctic regions, federal authorities, business and science discussed new solutions aimed at improving the quality of life and implementing priority projects. “During the first three years of implementation of the Fundamentals of State Policy in the Arctic and the Development Strategy of the Russian Arctic, a significant amount of results has been accumulated. However, during this time the world has changed. Based on the results of today’s discussion, we will prepare proposals for new measures to develop the economy, social sphere, and strengthen national security in the Arctic, with an emphasis on technological and social development. To create living and working conditions in the Arctic that would allow the implementation of ambitious projects,” noted the Head of the Russian Ministry of Eastern Development, Alexey Chekunkov.
