The Day of the Far East and the Arctic was celebrated at the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh
On January 24, the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” hosted the Day of the Far East and the Arctic, organized by the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia, the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the regions of the Far East and the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
In total, more than 70 events were held at the Unified Far Eastern Exposition, regional stands, and various VDNKh venues, in which tens of thousands of guests took part. During expert sessions, discussions, lectures, the most important achievements in the development of regions, identified by Russian President Vladimir Putin as a priority for the entire 21st century, were presented.
The opening ceremony and plenary session were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexey Chekunkov, representatives of federal authorities, governors of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District and the Russian Arctic, heads of the largest companies implementing investment projects in strategically important sectors of the economy.
