The 7th Eastern Economic Forum, designed to promote the accelerated development of the economy of the Far East and the expansion of international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, has completed its work. In the face of sanctions challenges, the importance of the Far Eastern macroregion is growing rapidly. In his welcoming address to the guests of the event, President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin noted: “The Forum is making a significant contribution to building business ties between Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. There is a tendency already for the Asia-Pacific region to become the center of world economic activity, along with the gradual extinction of industrial centers in Europe and the United States.”

Traditionally, new development tools are discussed at the Forum, breakthrough technologies are presented, landmark investment contracts are concluded and key decisions are made for the development of the country. This year was no exception – on the sidelines of the EEF, the Russian leader launched three new production facilities in the Far East. Among the launched productions are the CNF11CPD cargo-passenger car-rail ferry "Alexander Deev" in Komsomolsk-on-Amur; the fish processing plant "Komandor" in Kamchatka and the grain railway terminal Zabaikalsk - Manchuria in the Zabaykalsky region.

Summing up the results of the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev said: “First of all, the 7th Eastern Economic Forum, like the previous one, is a step forward in the development of the Far East. The step is not only in terms of the number of guests or the number and volume of agreements, although these figures are high. This is the first post-COVID Forum in which more than 7 thousand guests took part. Despite sanctions and external pressure, the development of the Far East continues and cannot be restrained by sanctions and external restrictions. Today, 2729 investment projects are being implemented in the Far East, 525 of them have already been put into operation. The economy of the macroregion received about 2.7 trillion rubles of investments, created more than 100 thousand jobs, and now more than 290 agreements have been signed at the Forum for a total of 3.27 trillion rubles - this is also a record. But it's not only that. The forum was created as a platform for dialogue with business, receiving feedback from entrepreneurs and society on the most pressing issues of the development of the Far East. This year, more than a hundred events were held within the framework of the Forum, their main results were reported to the President. Most of the decisions made at the end of the sessions were supported by him, which means that there are all prerequisites for the Far East to develop faster.”
