The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic signed a cooperation agreement with the “Tumninsky Priisk” company, which intends to create a modern timber-processing center in the Khabarovsk Region. The company plans to invest about 1 billion rubles in the project, its implementation will allow employing more than 300 people.
Production of lumber, peeled veneer, plywood, wood concrete blocks and fuel pellets with a capacity of more than 200 thousand cubic meters will start at the end of 2024. To do this, the investor will build workshops for deep wood processing, drying chambers and other wood processing infrastructure facilities, and install technological equipment. The sawmill will be provided with raw materials coming from the forest areas of the Khabarovsk Region.
Fuel pellets will be made from woodworking waste and low-grade wood, and wood chips will become one of the components of wood concrete blocks. In addition, being socially oriented, the enterprise will provide local residents with firewood.
