The “Sakhalin Lighthouses” territorial endowment fund was established in the Sakhalin Region

On Sakhalin, the Sakhalin Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and the “Kolsky” Foundation, created a specialized endowment, "Sakhalin Lighthouses," focused on systematically supporting projects in the fields of culture, education, and the creative industries.

The idea for the fund was conceived during the "Potential 25" acceleration program of the Arctic Fund "Kolsky" (Murmansk Region), which was launched at the Creative Industries Forum in Yakutsk in May 2025 with the support of the FEDC. The program aimed to develop sustainable support mechanisms for the non-profit sector and launch specialized endowment funds in the Far East.

"The “Sakhalin Lighthouses” Fund is not a one-time support measure, but a sustainable financial instrument designed for years to come. Its goal is to create a functioning ecosystem in the region where creative initiatives receive systematic support and the best projects have the opportunity to scale up. We view this fund as a practical mechanism for uniting the efforts of business, society, and development institutions to improve the quality of life and unlock the human potential of the Sakhalin Region," said Gasan Gasanbalaev, Deputy Director General for Social Development at the FEDC.
