New ways of developing the Arctic territories were discussed at SPIEF

As part of the business program of the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the session "New Opportunities for the Development of Arctic Cities" was held. The event was initiated by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic. The discussion was attended by the heads of regions, development institutions and companies conducting investment activities in the territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Elvira Nurgaliyeva, Deputy Head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, shared her opinion on how to find a balance between the demands of the regions and existing resources for the development of cities in the Arctic and improving the quality of life of people. According to the speaker, one of the most important tools for supporting the Arctic territories is the use of accumulated experience and state support tools that have already proven their effectiveness in the territories of the Far Eastern Federal District, considering the understanding of the Arctic specifics and the contribution of large companies that invest in the creation of new unique industries.
