The Public Council of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East outlined mechanisms for implementing the demographic strategy for the Far East

Members of the Public Council under the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East discussed support for families with children, increasing the birth rate and health protection, attracting young people and qualified specialists to the Far East, and creating the necessary infrastructure for high-quality higher and secondary vocational education. The main item on the agenda was the action plan for implementing the first stage of the Far East Demographic Policy Strategy for the period up to 2030 and for the period up to 2036 in 2026-2030.

More than 70 different events are planned across the main sections of the Far East Demographic Policy Strategy. Approved by the Russian Government in February 2026, it aims to achieve the development goals of the Far East as a stable macro-region with a high quality of life, strong family values, and a dynamic economy.

The state support measures included in the action plan will ensure the attraction of qualified personnel and the retention of local residents in the macroregions, Grigory Smolyak, Director of the Department of Social Development of the Far East and Arctic at the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, announced at a public council meeting.
