The Far East Creative Forum will host its first international film market

A press conference dedicated to the International Forum of Creative Industries "Created in the Far East: From Content to Capital" was held at the TASS press center. The forum will be held May 21–23, 2026, in Ulan-Ude. It is organized by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia.

This year's forum focuses on the development of the Far East's film industry, creative infrastructure, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, international cooperation, and the promotion of Far Eastern brands in Russian and international markets. Elvira Nurgalieva, Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, noted that the forum is becoming a key tool for developing the Far East's creative economy and a platform for developing and launching new projects, investment solutions, and mechanisms for interregional cooperation. She stated that the forum will be an important step in developing a sustainable creative economy. "Our goal is to attract investment in infrastructure, content production and distribution, support for creative entrepreneurs, and the development of new urban economies. This year, the forum's key theme will be tools for transforming content into real capital and financial assets, with a central focus on the audiovisual industries – film, animation, music, video games, media, and digital art," emphasized Elvira Nurgalieva. For the first time, the Far East will host an international film market, bringing together streaming platforms, distributors, film studios, music labels, and festival projects.
