The first Contemporary Art Fair will be held in the Far East

The Association of Galleries and the “Enso” Foundation for Cultural Initiatives are planning to hold the first Contemporary Art Fair in Vladivostok. The event will be included in the program of the Eastern Economic Forum in September 2024 and will be aimed at strengthening the potential of the creative economy of the Far East and expanding international relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The project will be implemented with the support of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic and the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic (FEDC). The agreement to hold the Contemporary Art Fair next year was signed during the EEF-2023 by the executive director of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) for social development, Gasan Gasanbalaev, the director of the “Enso” Cultural Initiatives Foundation, Yulia Klimko, and the chairwoman of the board of the Association of Galleries, Sofia Trotsenko. “Art fairs occupy a special place in the art market system. In Russia, as a rule, they take place in the western part of the country. The Contemporary Art Fair in Vladivostok will create a unique precedent, a new example of the successful implementation of socio-cultural ties with the Asia-Pacific region, will give impetus to the development of creative communities in the Far East and the growth of the regional art system,” said Gasan Gasanbalayev.
