Vyacheslav Zavalin, Acting Director of the Department of Territorial Development at the FEDC, said: "Museums are becoming important centers of creative infrastructure that shape the urban environment, strengthen cultural identity, and influence quality of life. We see them moving beyond their traditional role as collection custodians and becoming participants in territorial development. That's why the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, together with the Association of Museums of the Far East and Siberia, have launched a series of initiatives that expand the scope of museums' work: from participating in urban improvements to implementing large-scale infrastructure projects within master plans. They are changing the face of cities, setting new standards for environmental quality, and demonstrating that Far Eastern museum teams are ready to propose mature projects focused on regional development. Development institutions will continue to support museum teams with expertise and organizational support, creating the conditions for sustainable growth of the cultural sector and its contribution to the comprehensive development of the macroregion."
