The mechanisms of interaction between universities and business in the Arctic, as well as international cooperation in the field of education, were considered at SPIEF

A strategic session on the topic “Development of the Scientific and Educational Potential of the Arctic” was held at the stand “The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue” within the framework of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. The event, organized by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East with the support of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC), was attended by representatives of federal and Arctic universities, the business community, as well as scientific and technological organizations of China. The session was moderated by Gasan Gasanbalaev, executive director of the FEDC for social development. Opening the session, Gasan Gasanbalayev emphasized: “The development of the economy and the development of any territory in general, especially such as the Arctic, depend on the progress of science and technology. Scientific research and innovative developments are one of the most important tools for ensuring the economic, technological, environmental and defense security of the state in the Arctic region. Our task is to build the interaction of all parties in such a way as to make the most efficient use of available resources and develop new competencies.”
