The leadership of the Russian Arctic is provided by projects implemented in the Arctic zone

The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) took part in the panel discussion "Preferential treatment for business in the Russian Arctic as a factor in Russia's leadership in the global Arctic", which took place as part of the XIX Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

According to the FEDC, 566 residents are currently implementing their projects in nine Arctic regions. Almost 100 enterprises have been put into operation and another 60 are in a high degree of readiness. 801 billion rubles - this is the volume of investments declared by the residents of the Russian Arctic. 76 billion rubles have already been invested and more than 6,000 people have been employed. After the implementation of all investment projects, about 23 thousand jobs will be created.

A unique package of preferences has been created for residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Privileges have been established for taxes on profits, property, land, and mining. “For the development of new deposits, there is the possibility of applying a tax deduction for the mineral extraction tax - up to 50% until 2032. The burden on residents for insurance premiums is 7.5% for large businesses and 3.25% for small and medium-sized ones. 160 residents are already receiving such support for 4,000 employees. On average, residents save 12,000 rubles a month for each new employee,” said Vladimir Gudkov, Deputy Director of the FEDC Department.
