Preferential mortgages in the Far East and Arctic have attracted 1 trillion rubles into construction and provided new housing for more than 200,000 families

The volume of preferential loans issued at 2% per annum under the Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage program has exceeded 1 trillion rubles. Thanks to the presidential program, more than 200,000 families have purchased or built homes in the Far East and the Arctic. According to the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), 175,600 loans were issued for home purchases in the Far Eastern Federal District and 24,600 loans were issued to residents of Russia's Arctic zone.

"The total number of participants in the preferential mortgage lending program, including their families, is already comparable to the population of a large city like Khabarovsk. One of the key effects of the preferential mortgage program has been a reduction in housing price growth. The law of supply and demand has worked—the average price per square meter in the Far East is now lower than the national average. We continue to expand the program's membership, and our work to improve housing affordability in the Russian Far East will continue," noted Alexey Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic.
