“Ozerny” GOK will start operation in Buryatia this summer

As part of a working trip to the Republic of Buryatia, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev was acquainted with the construction of the “Ozerny” mining and processing plant in the Yeravninsky district.

A new modern enterprise for the extraction and processing of lead-zinc ore is being created on the basis of the “Ozernoye” polymetallic ore deposit. GOK with a capacity of 6 million tons per year will produce up to 597 thousand tons of zinc and up to 82 thousand tons of lead concentrates per year.

“The project is very large: it costs more than 90 billion rubles and is being implemented in a short time. According to the company's management, the GOK is planned to be launched this summer. The project has a complex history; it has already started twice, and then stopped. The company has done a grate job in order to select technologies that can ensure the economic efficiency of the project. I want to thank the company for the implementation of the project. It's nice when the help of the budget, the help of the Government of the Russian Federation is embodied in a real enterprise,” said Yuri Trutnev.

The planned volume of private investment in the project will be about 93 billion rubles (excluding VAT). The enterprise is going to be put into operation in 2023, and the mining and processing complex will reach its design capacity in 2024 - by this time, Ozernoye plans to create about 1,200 jobs.
