Cadets from all over the Far East are learning how to operate UAVs in Transbaikalia

As part of a working visit to the Trans-Baikal Region, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev visited the 212th Guards District Training Center of the Eastern Military District—the largest training center in the Far East and one of the best in the Russian Ground Forces.

"Crucial work for our country is underway. They're training operators to operate unmanned aerial vehicles. These decisions were made by the Ministry of Defense. We constantly monitor the progress of this work. In accordance with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's decisions, unmanned systems specialists cannot be reassigned to other assignments, meaning they serve in these units. We recently visited them on the front lines. These guys are fighting with honor and are having a significant impact on the enemy," said Yuri Trutnev.

For over a century, the unit has been training new generations of defenders of our country. Every year, several thousand young soldiers enlist at the Tank Troops Training Center. A year later, they graduate as military professionals—tank drivers, gunners, gun commanders, communications specialists, and now even drone operators.
