Andrey Sharafutdinov, Managing Director of the FEDC, presented information on government support measures for businesses in the Far East and the Arctic. He stated that recipients of "hectares" can take advantage of key preferential regimes—Advanced Development Areas (ASEZ), the Free Port of Vladivostok (FPV), the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), and the Kuril Islands of the Russian Federation (KIRF).
“The “Hectare” Program is a popular support measure for Russians, both for improving their housing conditions and for business development. More than 12% of those receiving free land decide to open their own businesses on the land, 28% choose agricultural plots, and 7% implement tourism projects. Preferential regimes will help open up more business opportunities on these hectares. For small and medium-sized businesses, the most popular form of support is the reduction of insurance premiums from 30% to 7.6%. This allows for the optimization of financial models and savings that can be passed on to employees, increasing the company's competitiveness in the labor market. We are seeing the first examples of this support package being implemented – at this year's Eastern Economic Forum, two "hectare" owners became residents of the Free Port of Vladivostok. This will allow entrepreneurs to launch their projects quickly and with minimal costs," says Andrey Sharafutdinov.
