FEDC invited printed circuit board manufacturers to the Far East and the Arctic

The 2nd All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design, Development, Materials, and Manufacturing Technologies was held at MIREA in Moscow. The event was organized by the Printed Circuit Board Consortium and MIREA, with support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC). All key industry players participated in the event—from relevant ministries, development institutes, university representatives, and even school projects training future engineers, to CEOs of PCB manufacturers.

Printed circuit boards are the foundation of any electronics, from household appliances to spacecraft. Without a domestic, independent PCB manufacturing industry, neither technological sovereignty nor a secure digital future is possible. This is why the development of this industry is currently at the center of attention for the government, business, and the scientific community.

Yuri Plyasunov, Director of the Department of Radio-Electronic Industry at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, reported that the share of domestic electronics in the market by 2025 exceed 60%.

"The total capacity of this sector in Russia amounted to 3-4 trillion rubles, of which about a third came from government procurement. State support and tax breaks, which save domestic businesses around 100 billion rubles per year, have been among the growth drivers," added Yuri Plyasunov.

During the plenary session, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation introduced the advantages of localizing circuit board production in Russia's East and North, with the best business incentives available in the country, as well as government infrastructure support.
