FEDC presented the tourism brand of the Far East in Beijing
In Beijing, as part of the business program of the cultural and educational project “The Word of the Russian Heart”, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) together with the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia held a session on the topic “Tourist and investment potential of the Russian Far East”.
The business meeting brought together tour operators from Russia and China, who were told about opportunities for developing the export of services and new cross-border tourist routes between Russia and China, the launch of a single electronic visa, and the opening of air and sea borders. The meeting participants were presented with projects implemented with state support in the Far East, and priority sites of tourism and recreational clusters.
At the end of 2023, the Far Eastern regions became the leaders in Russia in terms of the growth rate of tourist flow, which is almost 4 times higher than the Russian average - more than 6 million domestic tourists, of which 2/3 of the tourist flow came from three regions: Primorye, Khabarovsk Region and the Republic of Buryatia.
As for foreign tourists, from January to May 2024, more than 100 thousand Chinese travelers visited our country under the Russian-Chinese visa-free exchange program. Of these, the Primorsky Region received about 50 thousand and the Amur Region and Moscow received about 20 thousand each. That is, the Far East was chosen by more than 70% of Chinese tourists.
