FEDC presented federal film companies with measures to support film production in the Far East

A meeting with representatives of leading federal film companies was held at the Moscow office of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC). Participants were presented with opportunities for filming in the Far East and current government support measures for film production. Key initiatives for developing the film industry in the region were announced, including industry competitions, educational programs, and the development of infrastructure to support filmmakers.

The meeting was attended by representatives of major film production companies, including “1-2-3 Production”, “Art Pictures Studio”, “Nikita Mikhalkov's “Trite” Studio”, “Central Partnership”, “Mars Media Entertainment”, “Gazprom-Media Holding”, as well as production studios and creative teams from Moscow. Representatives of regional film companies and film commissions from the Primorsky, Khabarovsky, Sakhalin and Amur Regions also joined the event via videoconference.

Gasan Gasanbalaev, Deputy Director General of the FEDC for Social Development, noted that the development of the film industry is considered one of the important areas for the formation of the macro-region's creative economy.

To attract producers and foster a sustainable industry, a support system is being built through the Far Eastern Film Commission. Rebate programs and mechanisms for partial production cost reimbursement are in place in the regions. Infrastructure is being created, including a fleet of professional film equipment, and a multifunctional, full-service film studio is being built in Yakutsk. Meanwhile, training is underway: branches of leading creative universities have been opened, including VGIK in Khabarovsk, GITIS in Blagoveshchensk, and the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
