Welcoming the delegation, which included representatives of the Benin Diaspora, the Republic of Ghana, Ethiopia, Cameroon and the Gambia, Kirill Kamenev, Deputy General Director for Investment Promotion of the FEDC, noted that international cooperation is an important part of the Corporation's work aimed at accelerating the development of the Far Eastern and Arctic territories of the Russian Federation. As examples of mutually beneficial relations with foreign partners, he named some successful investment projects that are being implemented by residents of the Advanced Development Territories (ASEZ), the Free Port of Vladivostok (FPV), the Arctic Zone of Russia (AZRF) in the fields of medicine, tourism, development, agriculture, logistics and others.
The African delegation was presented with preferential regimes for ASEZ, FPV, AZRF, business benefits and special social programs. In addition, promising projects and areas for possible bilateral cooperation with investors fr om African countries in the oil and gas industry, energy and agriculture were discussed.
The President of the Union of African Diasporas in Russia, Professor of the Department of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication of the Moscow International University, Mr. Kinfu Zenebe Tafesse, in turn, thanked for the opportunity to be acquainted and emphasized the importance of striving for the development of bilateral cooperation, wh ere African Diasporas can have a significant impact.
Members of the delegation expressed their interest in expanding contacts and interaction with representatives of Russian business. The presidents of the Diasporas of Benin, Ethiopia, the Republic of Ghana, Cameroon and the Gambia spoke about their own activities and participation in the development of trade and economic relations in the fields of medicine and education.
