FEDC proposed an additional mechanism for state support of local energy projects in the Far East and the Arctic

The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) took part in a round table meeting of the State Duma Committee on Energy, which was held in Yakutsk. During the event, issues of legislative support for the development of distributed generation in isolated and hard-to-reach areas were discussed.

Maksim Gubanov, Head of Energy and Housing and Communal Services Department, spoke about the experience of implementing investment projects for the modernization of inefficient generation in remote areas and the proposals of the FEDC.

“We propose to supplement the current system of long-term planning in the electric power industry with the development of schemes and programs for the development of local energy with regulated pricing at the level of Russian regions, develop an optimum mechanism for the return of investments, identify an institution for the development of distributed generation in remote and isolated areas in the form of a fund and ensure its state financing. This will allow us to build an understandable system and create an effective mechanism for attracting financial and technological investments in this area,” Maxim Gubanov said.
