FEDC provides assistance to shipbuilding industry enterprises in training specialists
The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) takes part in organizing excursions and professional tests for students at enterprises in key sectors of the economy of the Far Eastern Federal District. First-year students of the Far Eastern Federal University, who are studying shipbuilding with a specialty in “Electrical equipment and automation of ships,” got acquainted with the basics of their future profession by visiting the site of the Vladivostok enterprise “Electroradioavtomatika” (VP “ERA” is part of the Far Eastern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair).
Gasan Gasanbalaev, Executive Director for Social Development of the FEDC, spoke about how the FEDC interacts with educational organizations of the macro region and key regional enterprises for training personnel for the shipbuilding industry:
“We continue to work on organizing specialized engineering classes in secondary schools. These are classes for schoolchildren, who have an aptitude for engineering and show good performance in mathematics, physics, chemistry. This year, three new engineering classes have been formed: in gymnasium No. 2 in the city of Vladivostok, in a school at the Far Eastern Federal University and school No. 2 in the city of Bolshoi Kamen. Schoolchildren receive pre-professional training in engineering disciplines and are acquainted with enterprises in the shipbuilding industry. Selection for these classes is carried out, among other things, using computer tests developed with the participation of FEDC experts. We organize meetings with parents of students; inform them about career opportunities for young people in this segment. We organize targeted training at universities and assist enterprises in organizing internships for first-year students to familiarize them with the specifics of the shipbuilding profession.”
