FEDC and Yandex will teach students from Far Eastern colleges cloud technologies for free

The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), in partnership with Yandex, is launching a pilot educational project to teach cloud technologies to students of secondary vocational education in the Primorsky and Khabarovsky Regions. The free online course, offered by Yandex Cloud, will launch on March 16 and run until May 2026. The FEDC is organizing the educational project, coordinating interactions between the IT company, educational institutions in the regions, and regional governments.

The course is conducted remotely and consists of three days a week. After lectures, students complete practical assignments, which are automatically assessed in the digital educational environment. Participants who successfully complete the practical portion of the program are eligible for the final assessment.

The course focuses on cloud infrastructure management and specialized software development. Students will learn the principles of virtualization and cloud system design, working with virtual machines and object storage, serverless technologies, infrastructure as code, and container solutions. The Yandex Cloud tool stack is used throughout the course, but the skills gained are applicable to other cloud platforms as they are based on universal principles for building a modern IT infrastructure.
