In terms of fish availability, Russia has almost caught up with the USSR: per capita consumption is 26 kg, compared to 30 kg during the Soviet era. The potential for exceeding this figure remains high. As recently as 2022, per capita consumption was only 22.8 kg, but this has increased over the past four years. This means that the Russian President's goal of reaching a per capita consumption of 28 kg by 2030 remains on track.
