The FEDC and the Sakhalin Region will present the Kuril Islands' potential for business

On April 29, the Kuril Investor Day will be held in Moscow at the “VEB.RF Urban Labs space”. The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), together with the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Government of the Sakhalin Region, will present the investment potential of the Kuril Islands to entrepreneurs.

Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko will welcome the participants. Deputy Chairman of the Sakhalin Region Government Anton Zaytsev will present the region's investment potential and available investment platforms. Deputy Chairman of the Sakhalin Region Government Vyacheslav Alenkov will report on technological development and promising business opportunities on the islands.

Nikolai Zapryagaev, CEO of the FEDC, will present information on the preferential regimes in effect in the Sakhalin Region: a unique regime on the Kuril Islands (KIRF), which exempts businesses from taxes for 20 years, and the “Kuril Islands” ASEZ.

Participants will learn about project financing opportunities on the archipelago from a VEB.RF representative and will also hear successful case studies of business initiatives implemented by residents of the Kuril Islands. During the event, participants will answer questions from the audience, and the Investor Day will conclude with negotiation sessions between investors, government officials, and heads of development institutions.
