The "Cable Express" will be built between the village of Poltavka (Primorsky Region, Russia) and the city of Dongning (China). Investment in the project on the Russian side will amount to approximately 13 billion rubles. An additional 300 new jobs will be created in Primorsky Region.
The first stage involves the creation of a low-altitude, cross-border logistics system called "Cable Express." The two-level, 600-meter-long track (two 300-meter spans) will include an upper level—a double-rail system for containers—and a lower level—an enclosed belt conveyor for coal. The system's capacity will be 30 million tons of cargo per year (interval service). Two covered warehouses, each measuring 50,000 square meters, will also be built on the Russian and Chinese sides, along with other supporting infrastructure. The second stage involves expanding the low-altitude logistics system along the Dongning-Poltavka-Ussuriysk route (and eventually to Vladivostok) and creating transfer hubs on the Russian and Chinese sides.
