FEDC and “Inter RAO - Electric Power Generation” company agreed to cooperate in the construction of the “Novolenskaya” TPP in Yakutia

The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) and “Inter RAO - Electric Power Plants” company have entered into an agreement on cooperation in the construction of new generating facilities in the Far Eastern Federal District. The parties agreed to cooperate in the construction of the “Novolenskaya” thermal power plant with a capacity of 550 MW in the territory of the Lensky district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), which will cover the predicted power shortage in the Bodaibo energy district. The implementation of the investment project for the construction of network and gas infrastructure facilities will be carried out in accordance with the order of the Government of the Russian Federation for the energy supply of the “Eastern Range”, a key element of the future Eurasian transport system. “Novolenskaya” TPP will not only supply energy for the “Eastern Range”, but will also ensure the active development of the mineral resource base in the south of Yakutia. Among the main consumers are “Gazprom” PJSC, “Polyus Sukhoi Log”, “Irkutsk Oil Company” LLC, and “Russian Railways” OJSC. The implementation of the investment project is planned for the period from 2023 to 2028 in the "Yakutia" ASEZ. The status of a resident will help the investor to reduce costs both at the investment and operating stages, as well as receive reduced insurance premiums, income and property tax benefits.
