The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and the Phystech Schools Development Fund are launching a series of events to advance engineering education in the Far East

Following agreements reached at the Eastern Economic Forum 2025, FEDC together with the Phystech Schools Development Fund, are launching a major educational initiative: the "Far Eastern Olympus" Olympiad for schoolchildren. The project aims to become a focal point for the development of engineering education and the Olympiad movement in the macroregion. The initiative contributes to the development of a system of early career guidance and preparation for schoolchildren based on the country's best pedagogical practices, with the participation of experts from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and leading Russian engineering schools.

"It's important for us to show our students their professional development trajectory while they're still in school. Today, the Far East economy requires specialists with strong engineering competencies. To achieve this, schools must pay special attention to the study of natural science subjects such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biology. This will enable them to achieve high Unified State Exam scores, easily enroll in Far Eastern universities, and integrate into the regional economy, including into enterprises in the priority development areas and the Free Port of Vladivostok. We are confident that the launch of the 'Far Eastern Olympus' will support students whose knowledge of physics and mathematics will form the basis for new engineering and technological breakthroughs," noted Gasan Gasanbalaev, Executive Director of the FEDC.
