The Amur Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) is an enterprise that confidently combines military shipbuilding and the production of civilian vessels: corvettes, small missile ships, and rescue vessels.
Mikhail Borovsky, CEO of PAO ASZ, explains: "The plant attracts workers from a wide range of regions. Upon relocation, specialists receive a 1-million-ruble relocation allowance. Furthermore, under a program with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, out-of-town employees have their rent fully covered."
The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant named after Yuri Gagarin (KnAAZ, part of UAC, part of Rostec), is a key manufacturer of Russia's most advanced civilian aircraft. The plant produces approximately 70% of the airframe for the import-substituting Superjet 100—an entirely domestic aircraft, from the engine to the last component.
Young engineer Denis Bazyaev moved to Komsomolsk-on-Amur from Irkutsk in 2023 after an internship: "In my third year at Irkutsk Polytechnic, representatives from KnAAZ visited us and offered us an internship. They showed us how finished aircraft are made from sheet metal. Upon graduation, they offered us an employment contract with housing allowance, travel expenses, and an increased stipend. After graduating, my wife and I moved here permanently."
Shipbuilding and aviation industries, high salaries, free education, housing certificates, and well-maintained parks make Komsomolsk-on-Amur a city of technology, comfortable living, and ambitious career plans.
