Bookshelf about the Far East and the Arctic: New Non-Fiction Releases 2026

We're launching a new column—a bookshelf about the Far East and the Arctic. In it, the FEDC's press service will highlight not only iconic works beloved by generations, but also intriguing contemporary releases. This includes stories about neighboring countries in the Far East and the Russian North, with which economic and sociocultural ties continue to strengthen. Today, we'll be highlighting gems presented at the Non-Fiction 2026 exhibition at Gostiny Dvor in Moscow. Enjoy!

“Three Generations of Railway Workers”. International Booker Prize nominee, Hwang So-kyung. A sweeping and comprehensive novel about Korea as we rarely see it in the West.

“Tales from a Husky.” The book was written and illustrated by Tatyana Smirnova, a member of the Creative Union of Artists of the Russian Federation.
