Chinese company to begin antimony mining in Transbaikalia

The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and the Chinese investor “Changsha Lanhu Chemical Co. Ltd” signed an agreement at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on the development of the Shipkhosha deposit in the Trans-Baikal Territory, as well as on the construction of a mining and processing plant. The project involves attracting investments in the amount of 2.5 billion rubles and creating 100 new jobs in the region. The agreement was signed today by the General Director of “Changsha Lanhu Chemical Co. Ltd.” Zen Yangzidzian and Deputy General Director for Attracting Investments of the FEDC Kirill Kamenev. Kirill Kamenev, Deputy Director General for Attracting Investments at the FEDC: "Zabaikalsky Region and Yakutia are the leading regions in antimony mining both in the Far Eastern Federal District and in Russia - 90.39% of all reserves of this metal in the country are concentrated here. The creation of a new mining and processing plant for antimony mining will allow us to meet the domestic needs of the domestic market and enter the export market. The project of the “Changsha Lanhu Chemical” company will provide the region with significant investments, new high-tech jobs and will strengthen the mining industry in Zabaikalsky Region."
