The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), the Government of Primorsky Region and “ECO Toys” company have signed a tripartite agreement on the construction of a greenhouse complex for growing muer wood mushrooms in the Chuguevsky District of Primorye. The document was signed at the IX Eastern Economic Forum by the head of FEDC Nikolay Zapryagaev, First Vice-Governor of Primorsky Region Vera Shcherbina and CEO of “ECO Toys” Evgeny Korzh. The total capital investment will amount to over 1 billion rubles.
"ECO Toys" is a multi-profile company that is engaged in logging, production of sawn timber, as well as modern children's eco-playgrounds using valuable wood species. This year, the company will launch a new project to grow muer mushrooms on a substrate of sawdust. The production process chain will use waste from the existing sawmill – sawdust from deciduous trees. The mushrooms will be exported primarily to China – the demand for these products from Chinese companies is very high.
As Nikolay Zapryagaev, General Director of FEDC, said: "There are no analogues of wood mushroom production in the Far East, and in the whole of Russia. And the new enterprise will be unique in its kind. More than 200 jobs will be created. We, in turn, will be happy to support the pioneers in this business and, within the framework of the agreement, will try to provide the investor company with all possible support."
