"The development of friendship between Russia and China is one of the pillars that underpins the stability of the modern world. The International Russian-Chinese Winter Sports Festival is traditionally one of the highlights of the Far East. Every year, a sports village appears on the frozen Amur River, where the best athletes from both countries showcase their skills, delighting spectators. Sports, spectator excitement, and friendly competitions allow us and the Chinese side to get to know each other better and become closer," said Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
"The International Russian-Chinese Winter Sports Festival, “ZimFestAmur”, is a significant event for the entire Far East. Such events serve as important bridges for friendship between peoples and provide a powerful impetus for tourism development. Festival guests will be able to see for themselves how Blagoveshchensk is being transformed by the master plan, starting with the region's "air gateway"—the new passenger terminal. A cross-border cable car is being built on the Amur River embankment, which will simplify and speed up connections with China. "I am confident that the festival will be held at the highest level and will provide participants with many memorable moments, while Blagoveshchensk will cement its image as a vibrant, dynamically developing international center," noted Alexey Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic.
