State support tools help Sakhalin attract private investment

The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) took part in the discussion of the main directions for realizing the investment potential of Sakhalin, which was initiated by the Russian Agricultural Bank and the government of the Sakhalin Region. Among the most promising areas, the participants identified the development of mariculture and trout breeding, the production of feed protein, organic and mineral fertilizers, plant protection products, growing flowers and seed production. As Abdurazak Razakov, section head of the investment department of the FEDC, noted, several instruments of state support for business have been created and are successfully operating here, from tax incentives to the provision of land and the provision of infrastructure, which operate within the framework of preferential regimes for priority development territories and the free port of Vladivostok. The most favorable conditions for doing business in Russia are offered by the law on special conditions for business activities in the Kuril Islands.
