Import substitution. The turning workshop of the AZRF resident in Novy Urengoy will meet the need for repair of foreign cars and special equipment

The new resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), the “Yamal Turner” company, will open a turning workshop in Novy Urengoy in 2028. The company will focus on manufacturing and repairing parts for foreign vehicles and special equipment. In particular, services will be provided to companies in the oil and gas sector. According to the agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC), investments in the project amount to 19.2 million rubles, and 10 jobs are being created.

"The feasibility of the project is determined by the need for the services offered, namely, the availability of a large number of foreign vehicles, as well as special equipment, the maintenance and repair of which is currently difficult due to the withdrawal of foreign-made spare parts suppliers from the market. Our workshop will be the first in Novy Urengoy," said Yulia Stupina, General Director of “Yamal Turner” LLC. According to her, oil and gas companies, contracting and service companies, construction and repair organizations are constantly in need of manufacturing non-standard parts, repairing shafts, bushings, flanges, and urgent work. In northern conditions, machinery wears out quickly, and the delivery of spare parts is long and expensive. Therefore, the repair and restoration of parts is in high demand. It is more profitable for the customer to place an order in a local workshop than to wait 2-4 weeks for delivery, stop equipment and production.
