The 3rd Far Eastern Film Awards will be held in Khabarovsk

From September 30 to October 2, 2026, the 3rd Far Eastern Film Awards—the National Cinematography Award for outstanding achievements in cinematography and contribution to the development of the film industry in the Russian Far East—will be held in Khabarovsk. The event is organized by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the Ministry of Culture, and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), with the “National Priorities” NGO serving as media partner.

The awards will bring together representatives of the film industry, creative businesses, government agencies, development institutions, and the expert community. The central theme will be the development of the modern film industry as a component of the creative economy, the promotion of the Far East and the Arctic through film and audiovisual content, and the development of professional cooperation within the industry. In 2026, the awards program will expand with a new category: "Best Film about the Arctic and the Far North." It was established to support film projects dedicated to the Arctic, its nature, history, culture, and contemporary development, as well as to promote state policy for the development of Arctic territories. The application process for the III Far Eastern Film Awards opened on May 23 and will run until August 22, 2026. Filmmakers producing full-length feature films, documentaries, animated films, and serials created in the Far Eastern Federal District or the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation are invited to participate.
