Far Eastern Federal District governors at the Yakut training ground

In Yakutsk, members of the Council of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, including the heads of the Far Eastern regions who attended the meeting, participated in a field training seminar as part of the third All-Russian Long-Range Shooting Tournament, dedicated to the memory of the legendary sniper of the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union Fyodor Matveyevich Okhlopkov.

The event took place at the “Sulus” Training and Shooting Center, one of the best firing ranges in the country in terms of technical specifications. By the end of this year, modern military training ranges will be built in three more regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.

To give regional leaders a chance to not only observe the range's operations from a distance but also gain a general understanding of long-range shooting techniques, ballistics, and the specifics of combat operations, the Russian Combat Sniping Federation, headed by Hero of Russia Guards Lieutenant Colonel Yaroslav Yakubov, invited them to don body armor and head to the firing line.

The best result in the competition was achieved by Lieutenant General Mikhail Nosulev, Acting Commander of the Eastern Military District, hitting the target at 1,500 meters. Second place went to Maria Kostyuk, Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region, hitting the target at 1,300 meters. Third place went to Vladislav Kuznetsov, Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, hitting the target at 1,200 meters.
