The urban environment in Chukotka is becoming more comfortable thanks to the region's victories in the Best Urban Improvement Projects Competition

In the city of Pevek in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (ChAO), improvement projects continue to be implemented. A competition to create a comfortable urban environment has attracted 300 million rubles. The selection and funding of the best improvement projects for municipalities in the Far Eastern Federal District is being carried out at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the support of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC).

The embankment is currently undergoing improvements. It will serve as an extension of the existing pedestrian zone. The project won the 4th Improvement Competition and received 100 million rubles in federal funding. City fairs will be held along the embankment, attracting more local residents and promoting the products of local entrepreneurs.

"The All-Russian Competition for Projects to Create a Comfortable Urban Environment includes a separate track for the Far East. Applications are currently being submitted in all regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. A total of 184 best projects from Far Eastern cities have been selected based on the results of four competitions, with funding totaling 18.1 billion rubles. Work on over 50 improvement projects has already been completed," said Grigory Smolyak, Director of the Department of Social Development of the Far East and Arctic at the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.
