Mining universities of Transbaikalie Region and St. Petersburg launched a graduate student exchange program as part of the educational consortium

Transbaikal State University (ZabSU) and St. Petersburg Mining University entered into a partnership agreement as part of a program to increase internal academic mobility of graduate students. Practical interaction between the two leading mining universities of Russia in this direction will start in November 2023, when young scientists from the Mining Academy of ZabSU will go to St. Petersburg to undergo an educational intensive. Since 2022, Transbaikal State University has been the flagship university of the new consortium “Leaders of Mining Education - Far East”. The consortium was created on the initiative of the FEDC within the framework of the higher education development program “Priority 2030. Far East”. The goal of the consortium is to unite the efforts of leading mining universities in the Far Eastern Federal District, development institutions and industrial partners in training personnel for the mining industry of the Far East. Today, research laboratories are being created on the basis of ZabSU, advanced educational programs are being introduced, and joint projects are being implemented with leading universities in mining education. St. Petersburg Mining University, as the leading specialized university in the country, assists in the work of the Mining Consortium. In November it will accept the first group of graduate students from ZabSU. Young Transbaikal scientists will undergo an internship in St. Petersburg with an enhanced educational track.
