Mining enterprises of the Far East support educational projects of the “Mining Academy” of ZabSU

The largest mining companies in the Far East – “Udokan Copper”, “Highland Gold”, GRK “Bystrinskoye” - will continue to support new educational initiatives of the “Mining Academy” of Transbaikal State University (ZabSU). In 2023, the “Mining Academy” project, developed jointly with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and the university’s industrial partners brought ZabSU among the winners of the “Priority 2030. Far East” competition. FEDC Executive Director for Social Development Hasan Hasanbalayev: “Today the “Mining Academy” is becoming a key platform for training highly qualified mining specialists, a new space for education, research, and innovative development of the strategically important mining industry. In 2023, the giants of the mining industry of the Far Eastern Federal District launched a support program for the “Mining Academy”. Today, all project participants can assess the results of collaboration, but above all - students. They have received the opportunity for paid internships at leading enterprises in the region, scholarship amounts have increased, they participate in Russian and international competitions and hackathons, and in field and laboratory research. Joint targeted work brings results: during the 2023 admissions campaign, ZabSU exceeded the plan for enrolling students in technical specialties.”
