A mining and metallurgical cluster for the production of titanium magnetite and ilmenite concentrates will be created by a new ASEZ resident in the Amur Region

During the Russian-Chinese economic forum “AmurExpo-2023”, the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) and JSC “Baikal-Amur Mining Corporation” (JSC “BAMC”) signed an agreement on activities in the “Amurskaya” ASEZ. Nikolai Zapryagaev, Director General of the FEDC, and Grigory Vedyokhin, Director General of the “Baikal-Amur Mining Corporation” JSC, signed the document in the presence of Alexei Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, and Vasily Orlov, Governor of the Amur Region. The new ASEZ resident will restore and modernize the complex for the extraction and processing of titanium-magnetite ores, which is located in the Tyndinsky municipal district of the Amur Region. It is planned to mine up to 2600 thousand tons of ore annually. The bulk of the products will be exported to China. The launch of the project, in which investments will amount to 4.1 billion rubles, will take place in 2023. More than 500 local residents will be employed at the enterprise.
