The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexey Chekunkov, held a meeting on the organization of the “Northern delivery”

Governors of the Far East, Arctic, and several other regions participated in the meeting. The discussion focused on improving the efficiency of the supply system for hard-to-reach and remote areas, which covers 19 regions, 2,800 communities, and over 2.1 million people.

As the minister noted, the 2025 “Northern delivery” plan was 100% fulfilled, with 3.4 million tons of cargo delivered to the regions. The 2026 “Northern delivery” plan exceeds 3.9 million tons.

“Northern deliveries” are being carried out in accordance with a new federal law, with a new supply model being gradually implemented—current mechanisms are being supplemented by more technologically advanced ones. This winter, all populated areas have been supplied with fuel, meaning heat. By prioritizing Category I northern deliveries, which are essential for the vital functions and stable operation of social services, housing and utilities, and energy organizations (approximately 1,500 items), supply reliability has increased.

To ensure timely and consistent deliveries, a “Northern Delivery” plan for 2026–2028 has been approved. The actions of supply chain participants will be coordinated through a digital platform, the Federal State Information System "Northern Delivery," and the first module has been launched.

The main goals for 2026 are to further expand the range of products and increase their availability, including through localization of production for a number of products and the modernization of energy facilities that use imported fuel.
