The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexey Chekunkov, took part in a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes

The meeting participants discussed the draft of the Federal Law “On the Federal Budget for 2025 and for the Planning Period of 2026 and 2027” in terms of implementing state programs for the socio-economic development of the Far East and the Arctic. As the minister reported, the state support mechanisms created in the Far East allowed for the attraction of 4.2 trillion rubles of investment to the macro-region, and more than 140 thousand jobs were created at new enterprises. For every ruble from the state budget, 36 rubles of private capital were attracted. More than 1.9 thousand objects of social and engineering infrastructure (medical institutions, kindergartens, schools, etc.) were built or modernized under the Presidential unified subsidy. More than 2.3 thousand courtyards were improved. New equipment was purchased for 703 social institutions, 618 units of special transport, housing for social workers and residents of emergency housing being resettled were purchased. The draft budget retains socio-economic priorities. RUB 249.3 billion is allocated for the state program for the development of the Far Eastern Federal District until 2027 - this is RUB 20.1 billion more than the limits provided for in the current budget. At the same time, more than 91% of the funds are planned to be allocated for economic development and the implementation of projects in the social sphere. The amount of funds allocated for the implementation of the state program for the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation has been doubled. More than 26 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of Arctic closed administrative-territorial entities and the construction of infrastructure under the Presidential Arctic subsidy.
