The head of the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia Alexey Chekunkov visited the Khabarovsk Territory on a working trip

In Khabarovsk, the minister held a strategic session on the development of Far Eastern museums. The event was attended by Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District Grigory Kuranov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Khabarovsk Region Maria Avilova, representatives of 40 museums from all subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District and central regions of Russia. The participants discussed the strategy for the development of museums in the Far East, and reviewed projects for the construction of new museum complexes in Ulan-Ude, Khabarovsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Master plans for the development of 25 cities, the implementation of which began in the Far East, provide for the creation of new museums. “All museum projects are of great importance both for culture and for the economy. Therefore, it is very important to strengthen the museum direction, which combines cultural, economic and geopolitical components. During today’s session, a mission was formulated that, I am sure, every Museum of the Far East should bear– to create and broadcast the image of Russia as an ark of cultures,” Alexey Chekunkov noted in his speech.
