The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexey Chekunkov, met with the acting governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, Ruslan Kukharuk

Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra ranks first in Russia in oil production and electricity production (84.2 billion kWh), second in gas production, and third in industrial production volumes. The district is home to 1.7 million people, of which 51.3 thousand live in two districts (Beloyarsky and Berezovsky), included in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The first 2 investment projects using benefits and preferences are already being implemented here - for the construction of industrial infrastructure and housing. Another 5 investor applications are being considered. The Minister and the Acting Governor discussed promising projects in the field of mining, forestry, oil services, fish and wild plant processing, tourism, and infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to the development of transport and logistics. In particular, the project to build a bridge across the Ob was discussed. This bridge will give the region access to the Trans-Siberian Railway and ensure the full operation of the transport corridor "Ekaterinburg - Uray - Sovetsky - Nyagan - Nadym".
