"Hectar" as a business starter: a Yakutia entrepreneur built a recreation center on freely received land

On the picturesque Amga River in Yakutia, aspiring entrepreneur Nurgun Neustroev has built a small recreation center on land allocated through the “Hectare” program. It welcomes not only Russian travelers but also foreign tourists. The project's creator shared his success story with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC).

Nurgun Neustroev has experience working at a tourist resort and decided to develop his own business in the hospitality industry. "In 2019, I rented a tourist resort on Mount Korolenko, in the Amginsky District of Yakutia. I worked there for about three years and eventually decided to register land next to the resort under the “Hectare” program to create a full-fledged tourist complex," says Nurgun Neustroev.

Nyurgun's wife and sons have been his main supporters in all his endeavors; they built the resort together. Subsequently, his son and wife also acquired plots under the "Hectar" program elsewhere in the ulus, where they plan to establish an agritourism complex and engage in poultry farming. The entrepreneur also has ambitious plans for his "hectare"—to create a full-fledged ethno-resort with traditional Yakut buildings, install transparent glamping domes, and purchase catamarans and boats for cruises on the Amga River.
