One hundred IT specialists, including people with disabilities, will be employed at a new data processing center (DPC) owned by the BitRiver Group. Qualified personnel will be trained at Far Eastern universities, with further in-house skills improvement courses.

Bitriver-B (part of the BitRiver Group, Russia’s largest data center operator) is building a 100 MW data processing center in the Republic of Buryatia. In order to have this data processing center equipped with the most energy-efficient servers of the latest modifications, the resident of ASEZ Buryatia has started applying the free customs zone (FCZ) procedure for importing the required equipment. The FCZ procedure is one the key benefits for those ASEZ residents in the Far East and the Arctic who are engaged in foreign economic activity - it helps reducing customs fees when importing high-tech equipment. Under an agreement with the FEDC, the amount of investments in the project is RUB 900 million and may exceed RUB 1 billion.

“The Advanced Special Economic Zone is an effective tool for unlocking the economic potential of Buryatia. ASEZ residents are provided with support in preparing documents, determining enterprise strategies, assessing infrastructure and financial capabilities, and in strategic planning of project implementation. For people of Buryatia, this means jobs at new enterprises, and for students - internship with ASEZ resident companies. In particular, for the new data processing center, we are planning to invite students from the Far Eastern universities as interns, with subsequent employment,” said Alexey Tsydenov, the Governor of Buryatia.
