Government officials, heads of educational institutions, industry experts and partners, academics, and the public participated in the discussion. Kirill Klimenko, director of the Department of Human Resources Development of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) represented the FEDC at the plenary session.
The key topic of discussion was the development of the secondary vocational education system and the role of employers in training in-demand personnel. In his speech, Kirill Klimenko noted that human resources are becoming the main driver of economic growth in the macroregion.
"The Far East is a strategic macroregion with unique geoeconomic potential. The portfolio of investment projects supported by the FEDC exceeds 11 trillion rubles. More than 300,000 new jobs will be created under the agreements signed. To date, 181,000 jobs have already been created, of which over 114,000 have been provided with labor force. This creates a stable, long-term demand for personnel. Employers in the Far East currently post approximately 200,000 vacancies. Khabarovsk Krai has become the leader in the Far Eastern Federal District in terms of the number of open industrial vacancies, accounting for approximately 25% of all industrial job openings in the macroregion. The most in-demand specialists are machinists, electricians, welders, occupational safety engineers, technologists, and constructors.
He also added that over 70% of jobs in the macro-region are aimed at specialists with secondary vocational education and skilled workers. Under these circumstances, over 61% of employers use events at educational institutions to recruit staff.
