On December 10, Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Elvira Nurgalieva spoke at the final press conference of the program "Woman Leader. Transformation of the Women's Agenda in Russia" at the TASS press center in Moscow. She spoke about the prerequisites for creating a special stream of the program "Woman Leader. North and Far East", commenting on its results and significance for the regions of the Far East and the Arctic.
"The development of the Far East and the Arctic has been declared a priority for the entire 21st century by the President of Russia. This is half of the territory of our country. There are many tasks for the development of these regions, both economic and social. And for their implementation, every person who lives and works in these regions is important to us. And, of course, every woman is important. Women today face two global challenges – an active role in the sustainable socio-economic development of regions and increasing the birth rate,” said Elvira Nurgalieva.
